....so now that we are in the midst of a global recession..here is what im thinking for kinda general inspiration 09 till we dig ourselves out of the poor house.

think:

french orphans

child labour
the great depression
the industrial revolution
soot
chimney sweeps
womans suffrage
tenement buildings
italian immigrants
ellise island
and as always heroin chic


its all about lots of layers.....heavy heavy heavy clothing......coarse fabrics..... think sailors, but not sexy / gay...more like wizened and heartless.......no facil hair, just soot......soot is to be used like foundation...fuck it use it instead of rouge, eye liner, all of that stuff. all you need is soot from here on out.

only family heirlooms will be acceptable, if it hasnt been in your family for two generations......its not stylish this season.

food wise im thinking lots of starch, and clear soups....as always " skinny is inny ".

im so into hair at the moment (see margielas jacket).. im going to an antiques fair this week to see if i can get me some victorian mourning jewellery (made from dead peoples hair). i think this would go wonderfully with martins inspiration below
